Today we were just having a play around with Processing for our second project which is called 'structure and noise'. We were just having fun combining shapes and colours together, and see what it turns out like. In the image below is what I did with shapes and colours in Processing.

DSDN 112: Week 4
Today we had an interim presentation, we had to do a detailed storyboard to show how our object works and how the person interact with it. We presented our storyboards to our group with a different tutor and we were getting feedback from our group and the tutor. I got some good feedbacks today on what materials I can make my object out of and what sort of mechanism I can do to be able to make my object work. After those feedbacks I've been given, now I'll have to go do some prototyping to see if they will work for my final.
DSDN 104: Researched materials for model
Rusty metal
Dirty metal
Rotten wood
I just had a look on Google images to see what materials I could use for my model that will relate to my theme, I had a look at these three because the colour of them do look quite chaotic, but I'll have to add them to one of my models to test it out.
DSDN 112: Interim presentation
For my interactive design object I’m planning to design a cube that’s pretty much like a dice but all the faces will have colours. I’m trying to make the cube land on one of the edges every time you toss it. What I’m trying to make people experience is that when they pick my object up it will just look like an ordinary cube and they will think that when they toss it, it will land on one of the faces. But then they will get a surprise when it ends up landing on the edge of the cube. It’s pretty hard to be able to make the cube land on the edge, so I need to do some more research and prototyping. I’ve thought about making my own gyro for it because I think that will be the best mechanism for the balancing of my object since gyros are used on Segways and other objects that needs balancing. I’m also going to try and add something that’s heavy on the edge of the cube and see if that will work out. The materials that I thought about using are carboard, plywood or plastic, but I’ll leave materials till the end.

DSDN 112: Ideas for my interactive object
In this image here it's a inflatable bop bag which is pretty much a little kids punching bag. When you punch this bop bag, it will just come back right at you and won't just tip over because it's got some sort of weight on the bottom of it. I think on the bottom of it is water because I've seen one before that has been popped and liquid came out of it. The weight on the bottom of the bop bag gave me an idea for my object that I'm planning to do.
Right here is a gyroscope, it's a spinning wheel or disk in which the axle is free to assume any orientation and they are known for use on Aircraft's, ships, segways etc. A gyroscope gives me another idea for a mechanism for my object to keep it balance on one spot, but I'll need to do some more research and maybe try and make my own gyro.
